🔬 Life sciences company to expand in Delaware

A global analytical instrumentation manufacturing company is expanding its Delaware office and laboratories to support growing demand.

Agilent Technologies is located on Centerville Road in Greenville. The company plans to spend $7 million to redesign and reoutfit its existing laboratories. The state will give Agilent up to $303,330 to support job growth and capital investment at the site.

Agilent has been in Delaware for more than 20 years. The company employs 800 people at the Greenville site and additional workers at a manufacturing location in Newport.

🚗 Car wash proposed at Friendly’s Kirkwood Highway site

A Modwash car wash is being proposed in place of the Friendly’s on Kirkwood Highway.

The Friendly’s closed in 2016 and has remained vacant since. According to its website, Modwash has three locations coming soon to Delaware, listed as Newark, Dover and Seaford.

Details of the car wash plan have not been posted on New Castle County’s website. The property is currently zoned commercial regional.

🥨 Philly Pretzel Factory to reopen on Naamans Road

Philly Pretzel Factory at 1718 Naamans Road will reopen under new ownership, according to its Facebook page. An opening date has not been announced.

There will be three Philly Pretzel Factory locations in Delaware: the Naamans Road location, a store in Bear’s Eden Square and a Rehoboth Beach store on Coastal Highway.
